    Gauge/Float

I have a 1994 Stratos 285ProXL, I was out fishing and I ran out of gas in one of my tanks. NO PROB,,,,,I just hit the switch on my other tank and we were good to go.
Later, when I went and filled the tank I noticed the guage reads full. I have used my boat since then and it still reads full.
I think I am going to have to replace my gauges in both tanks.
Has anyone done this, and is it hard to replace??????? Can anyone lead me in the right direction on what are the most cost efficient and best to buy.

    Thank You in ADVANCE

Did you switch the gauge switch back to the empty tank? If you were on the port tank and swaped over to the starboard tank that should have been done by the selector lever (mechanical) the gauge reads electric and works off the dash switch. Your float in the tank may be stuck if so remove the access panel and lift the float out of the tank slightly. To fully remove it you will have to take out the seats and seat back from the boat. Then you have full access to both tanks. While you're at it remove the barbs on the fuel tanks and knock out the anti siphon valves to prevent fuel issues down the road.

    Re: Gauge/Float (ChampioNman)

Fred thanks for the responce,,,,,I realise the dash switches work together with the manual port/starboard lever. I have done all that you have explained.
I think I am going to have to change BOTH GAUGES in both tanks, what I am curious with is what is the best and type of gauges to use.
I do know that I am going to have to remove my bench seat to get to the beauty hole to check the gauges.

    Thank Again Fred

    Ray,
The best bet is to call C&O and talk to Carol and tell her you need two sending units for your boat. Give her as much info as you can and she can get you the correct senders based on your tank size.
