    2010 Stratos 201 XL Evo

I just got back from Lake Guntersville where I had a decent chance to really run the boat. With the prop shaft 3 1/2" below pad I was turning the 25p Raker II 6000rpms and was getting 73.1 mph on my 250 HO. I even adjusted the jack plate to where it was 2 1/2 mph and it didn't make any difference in the performance other than that water pressure went down some.

I also seem to be loosing bite when I get on plane. I don't understand that. Can someone explain that. Do I need to get the 27 Tempest.

The water pressure was around 26 psi. I did take the jp up and no gain of speed just a small loss of water pressure.

What is up with losing bite when I get on plane? Its like I'm spinning the prop and that can't be good.

You have to find that sweet spot with the jackplate up and the motor down. Also 26 psi is not bad. I dont know much about stratos since this is my first one. But You might can bring it up some from pad that seem kinda low. Also you still have good water pressure but I be wrong on that since sttratos is a heaver boat.

My 03 201 w/225ho has the 27 tempest and runs great w/ all three stock plugs in. It also blows out the prop as it breaks over but its not bad. I think it helps out the hole shot to let it slip a little to get the r's up jst watch the rpms, dont want too much slip. The 27 bites good comming out. You might have the 25 worked up a pitch. You know stratos lay over to the left until they pull up on pad also. Great boats, ride like butter.Jim

The 27 Tempest works great on that rig, at 6000 rpms you should see close to 80.

Re: 2010 Stratos 201 XL Evo (RangerRodney)

I finally got to take the boat out by myself and run the fire out of it. With eveything still being the same 3.5" below pad 25 Raker II, I had it up to 78 with a full tank of fuel and full tournament load but with just me in the boat. I was really happy with that. It was on a GPS, so the accuracy of the speed shold be right on.
