    Anyone have fender rust?

I've been getting allot of rust spots/bubbling paint on my 07 Stratos trailer fenders. I decided to take them to my buddy at the Line-X shop and have them coated top and bottom. Stopped by another shop to get them sandblasted clean, and the sandblast guy told me that when he took them down to bare metal there wasn't a single spot of primer on the metal....just the paint. He said there was a fine layer of rust over almost the entire surface.

Just wondering if anyone else is having corrosion problems like this?

By the way....the Line-X idea came out great...looks really sharp!

I am having the same Issue with my 2004 Stratos 285 PXL trailer. That sounds kinda unusual that they would put no Primer on the trailer at all. Either he was just trying to drum up some business or he was telling the truth. But i doubt that they would not put any primer at all on the trailer.

I think it was a common problem, I complained and they shipped me some stainless steel ones.

Don't know about the whole trailer, he just blasted the fenders...and I don't know how telling me that would drum any business for him...he just runs a small sandblasting shop. I do know that i have pieces of paint at the house that peeled off with the aluminum step plates...and there's no primer there.

I had the same problem. Called my dealer in CT. He shipped me stainless ones! The rest of the trailer will rot away before the fenders do

My fenders had no primer under the paint too and the black coating has chipped off in spots. The tube frame painted trailer with my old Javelin held up way better than the POS under coated-armor coated whatever one with my Strat.

My boards on the inside of my Galvanized trailer fender fell off - they did not use stainless bolts...kind of disappointing

I should have tried that....but I think my dealer is getting tired of hearing from me... (just kidding Todd)

I really like this Line-X coating anyway, plus it makes for good grip when you're stepping down. Shoot, if I could afford it I'd have the whole trailer done!

My 06 201 trailer has bubbled spots on the fenders....I am planning on spray lining them after blasting them clean.

i dont have fender issues with mine but i did notice paint bubbling on my break away portion of the tongue....looks like it wasn't primed.... but then again it doesn't look like normal paint either so i don't know... thought about taking it to the dealer to have them look at it before it gets worse....
