    2000 225 Lower Unit

I have a 2000 225 lower unit that went out. (The reverse is shot) I have another lower unit that came off a counter rotating motor (The power head blew on that one, so I just used it for parts). Can I use that lower unit? If so how?

    Sorry Model#225FPXSS Serial # G04772782

    Thanks.

As long as your use your own driveshaft and shift shaft, or that the CCW gearcase is from the same model series as your motor, the gearcase will bolt up and work fine. Of course you will need a LH prop and the selection is limited compared to RH props. Be sure to use the trim tab from the CCW engine also.

Thanks Seahorse. The gearcase I have is from my current motors twin. So, you are saying I can bolt it on, and just get a LH prop?

Thanks, I guess I deserved that.

Or you could (I do not recomend it) but you could just use a RH prop and use reverse. I saw a guy down in Texas do this it was petty funny. He thought the sifter was hooked up backwards.
