I saw on tv this weekend where you can take a heat gun, heat it to liven the shine back up just be careful not to melt it! They were doing it on a car dash you actually get it to the melting point then remove the heat!
I have never tried this but can see were it will work. You may want to find something to practice on first like something from a junk yard!
sounds a little extreme,also the color has fadded from black satin finish to white/bone color,in other words the color is gone
SEM landau black vinyl and carpet dye you'll have to search for it online it is about $15 a can but it holds up like factory finish

I've got a 19ss with the same problem. I use the black kiwi shoe polish that is liquid with the sponge applicator attached to the top of the bottle. It works great. Blends in perfect and only needs to be applied once or maybe twice a year. I apply one coat let it dry and a second coat covers it completely.

They also make a clearcoat to finish it off nice. BTW Check with a auto paint store![]()

Yeah I used it to redo my front piece 5 years ago and is just now fading and need to be redone but I really abuse mine here in florida
