Specifically whether an external electric fuel pump is the same as the engine mounted ones that the instructions say shouldn't use one? The guy who owned the boat before me removed the original fuel pump and installed an electric one in the rear of the boat. My marine mechanic put the new filter on. I was adding one to my old Hydrasport when I read the warning against using it with an electric fuel pump.
