Bilge Operation questions

I have a 1989 279FS and was wondering how the bilges are supposed to work. The previous owner rewired most everything and i dont think its correct. It has two bilges, a single and double. The single works fine with the switch in auto or manual. The double only works by its auto float switch. I was thinking i should be able to manully turn it on. The switch for the bilges are as follows. One for auto or manual and another for single or double. also when the bilges do come on it fills the livewells. Is this correct? If you need more info please ask. Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like one of the aerator pumps went bad and he reworked the bilge pumps to replace it
I think I would start over. It is definitely a plus to have an automatic bilge pump, but not a necessity. You can install one pump that will do both (works on a float switch and can be turned on manually) Do you fish tournaments? If not, you can do without the aerator pumps. If you do fish tournaments, make sure you get these replaced and working properly. There is a wiring diagram post for Stratos boats on the Stratos pages that might help you with your repair.
