You must have a garage to let it dry off in after you bring it home. I have three choices: 1-leave the cover off and sit in the driveway hoping for three or four straight days of dry weather to dry out or:
2- put the cover on a damp boat and wait for everything to mildew under that.
3- build a garage.....which at this point is not much of an option

Re: Cover on or Off?? (Ohirolina)

Yes I do have a garage but the question was about trailering with the cover on or off not storage when you get home. If I did not have a garage then I would put a cover on mine when I got back to the house and I did do that before I built the garage.

You are correct that the question was trailering with the cover or not, but You made the comment that a boat was supposed to get wet after my post about using my cover it when it was raining.

Only trailer with cover on when I'm traveling long distance. Helps keep road debris from damaging sides of boat and engine cowl.

Re: Cover on or Off?? (Bugs)

    Long trips: on
Short trips in decent weather: off
    Any rain: on
Messy roads, mud, grit, etc: on

Aurora canvas custom cover, seems to fit it well. Never had a scratch from it that I can tell. But I strap it down TIGHT.

Off. Not sure why people are using the cover when its raining. The boats only going to get wet while I'm fishing in the rain anyway.
