Bought 92 Stratos from a guy I know in 2007,transom was kind of spongy,got in some 5 footers @ Big Bass Splash on Sam Rayburn and broke transom,has anybody else had transom trouble?

usually when the transon is spongy you need to run unless you want to spend a few grand in a rebuild. guess lesson learned. most 92 stratoses even ones nor so well taken care of have no problems. Looks like maybe your hold filled with water or something was not sealed properly ( transducer, inlet, jack plate) that allowed water to invade then rot it out, also 5 fters is no place for a bass boat in most applications

my 90 201 pro had a transom repaired/replaced 8years ago, still holding up good. BTW 5' no way I would be out in that no matter how much money is involved that is just asking to break a bass boat transom no matter the make. Get a big off shore center console next time.

had to make it back to landing,even the center consoles wrwe catching it that day 21 baots wre sunk thank god I made it to the landing before it got real bad,wind came otu of the west about 20 mph,me and my brother made a run for it before the worst of it hit
