    Fine tune e-tec

Hey guys I am helping bigharry fine tune his tr196/200 e-tec. Here's the current #'s
    6" plate
25" tempest plus all small hole plugs in
    5950 rpm WOT
    22-25# W/P
    2.75" under the pad
67.3 gps 3/4 fuel 400 pounds of fish catching machine's (NOT)
    69.7 just me 155#
Here's my take,, Go to a 26/27 trophy to get the rpm's down and start raising the plate until W/P gets to the 15# level. I'm guessing up another inch will do it.
all other performance aspects were exceptional ,midrange, holeshot ect.
Any of you fence sitters out there better role on over to the e-tec side cause I,m tellin you this is one exceptional power plant in all categories!!
Give me some input ..Need this rig to run about 72 so I'll have a little competion but not to much. SMG

27 Asx or 26 Raker 2 will get him there or a little more. Them E-tecs seem to like those Raker 2s.

    SMG,
Your a little high on the R's you need to get them down below 5800 I'd try a 26-28" Raker. CM

The Raker II's seem to have more total lift, bow and stern.

Im with CM, get the RPM's back down to 5800, most of the tach's I have checked have been off 200 RPM's, it will be frowned on if the motor has a problem and you have been running it above 5800.

    Is this a regular 200 or a 200HO?

If this is a regular 200, you will need to be a little careful about getting the motor set too high because it may cause a blowout condition. If this is a 200HO, you should be able top raise it quite a bit more. The regular 200 will also run higher water pressure than the 200HO.

I will agree on the 26 Raker II. This prop should get him to 72.

This motor will run above 5800 RPM but you start to use a lot more gas and oil when you do. The rev limiter is around 6050 (so I have been told).

Thanks guys thats what I thought probly ought to start with the prop and see how the #'s end up. don't really want to raise the motor unless we need a little more help with the chine walk. Kenneth its a straight 200 ...SMG

Do not be surprised if the 200 will be 3 - 4 MPH slower than a 200HO.

Troy's been stuck in Chattanooga, and he isn't happy about it. Rusty answered the other part.

    Re: Fine tune e-tec (RoddyRude)

Guys, I really appreciate all the help. I guess I'll try a Raker but which one - 26, 27 or 28?

BTW, I got so lucky with my E-tec. I thought all motors were created equal. This motor just happened to be on the boat I wanted and that is the only reason I got it. I was brainwashed by the Verado commercials and the salesman gave me the pros of the E-tec vs. the cons of the Verado and it was easy to decide.

If I have one more yeahoo ask me if I'm wearing a pink thong
