    00 Javelin Renagade 20

Hi guys. I currently own an 94 Nitro 180 TS/150 Merc and am looking for a bigger boat. I go to Ky Lake an Lake Erie every year and want something to handle the rough stuff alittle better. My current ride is okay but is a little rough and you get wet sometimes.

    I was looking at a 00 Javelin Renegade 20 with a 00 Johnson 200.

How do these rigs handle the big water? Do they fish well in skinny water?

Any thoughts on the Johnson and this setup?

    Thanks guys.

You know what they say. . . size matters!! The extra hull length will make a difference when in big water. The Renegade 20 is the precursor to the current 200XL (roughly the same lower hull).

I primarily fish Lake Erie, I have a 19 foot Javelin, as you probably know, fishing the great lakes can be un-predictable. I can comfortably fish 2-3 footers in my boat but you have to use common sense. My buddy has a 21 foot deep V Trophy, once you get over four footers you are not going to be comfortable unless you are in a yacht. I probably stay dry because I have a F/S model with full windshields. When the BASS Tour was here two years ago with there bigger bass boats, several of them thought they could drive like a maniac in four to six footers, needless to say, several motors broke off the transoms and a few others had to be towed in
The 20 will make a difference over your 18 for comfort, but on the big water I do not know if it is worth it! Just my 2 cents...

Good riding boat in rough water. Never had a problem getting wet.
I can get in skinny water with my rig with no problem, in about 1.5 ft.
I have a 225 on my rig, the 200 should see mid to upper 60's.
    Have any questions IM me!

I run a 19' Jav R19 w/ 150. I can run in 1 to 3 ft waves in Lake Michigan and stay dry, my body takes a beating but I stay dry. This boat will also float in a foot of water with out issue.
