Anybody had problems with the keel gaurds coming off? Had one installed on my 08 201 in august when I bought the boat and have had problems with it since the first time I had the boat out. I was told by the dealer to try Gorilla glue to patch but it seems to only help for a little while. Now it has started coming off further down the hull and I have decided I want it replaced. It seems to be a defect in the product. Anyone know how good keel guard stands behind their product?
Hamby's... I had one put on when I bought the boat. I think the install did not have proper time to set up and started to come apart on the ends. Hamby's replaced it, I installed the new and have not had a problem since. The only hard part about the job is getting the old adhesive off. You need carburator/ fuel injector cleaner... I tried everything under the sun and this was the only stuff that broke it down.

Thanks for the info. The boat dealer is supposed to be getting in contact with the keel gaurd dealer and letting me know what they can do.
Mine came off once. I called them, they said another was on the way, and asked me to send some pictures for their engineers to look at. New one on the doorstep a few days later, and no more problems.
Could have been an improper installation or I have read that sometimes weather temp plays a roll in adheasion of glue to hull. Either way its brand new and dealer should cover it. I have been told that replacment can be a pain in the butt.
Dealer should help out. I have also seen the owner from Keelshield step up as well and be more then helpfull if its there product.
I would say that if its peeling off then you should have it replaced asap. Lord knows you don't want to have that thing come off then mow it over in the big mota
Thanks for the info hawg swinger. Your are right as I dont need the keel guard flying off at 80mph and tearin the bottom end up! I guess I need to follow up with the dealer again cause I still havent heard anything back.
Send Keelguard an email about it. I had one that was starting to separate from the adhesive backing. Emailed them some pics and had a brand new one in a couple days.
