Need advice on setup for new Evo

Ok guys...I am finally placing my order for the 201Evo in a couple days...but I am on the fence about a few setup details...hoping to get some input from you all about what is important and what is not....

    1. Manual vs Hydrolic plate.....it is about $1000 more for this feature and where I fish is a mix of really deep water and some shallower sloughs and sand dunes. I am really looking forward to getting every MPH out of this rig and I know it would make tweeking a lot easier but is it really worth the $$...any feedback would be helpful.

    2. Prop.....The dealer is planning on setting rig up with a 26 Raker II....is this the best starting point? I am ordering the Evinrude HO and everyone has stated that seems to be the best for all around perfomance....I have read up on the hydromotives props and obviously its hard to beat a tempest....just wondering what you all have experienced with similar setups....

    Thanks for the input...

Jack plate is simply easier for setup with Hydraulic, but with Todd Morgan here and the other 201 Evo Freaks all you"ll have to do is measure and make pretty much 1 adjusment, without their help it would be trial and error, swearing and alot of work, Id say Manual.........On props My customers, but different brand of boat love the ne Fury on the HO E-tec, 25p for your application, see if you run a 26p now you go down 1 for a Fury, Raker is hard to beat, but Id say Fury, the others will chime in on what really works for Top End, hole shot, mid range, thats why Id say FURY, make sure you post pics when you get it, even us guys that sell different brands love the Stratos styling and of course SPEED......Get ready for 80-83MPH, depending on alot.........

Jason, congrats my friend, your going to Love that boat! It was great talking to you last month.I ran a 26 Fury,it was too small a prop for your setup, maybe a 28 Fury if they come out with one.As I told ya,I am running a 27 Tempest, great all around prop, runs 81-82 loaded at 3 inches below the pad.Todd ran a Hydromotive at 85mph,I haven't been able to run one of those yet, but,I did run Mark Croxtons Prototype to 85 mph loaded, gonna buy one as soon as he goes into production. As far as the Hydro jackplate,if your running in shallow water alot, they are great and yes you can make adjustments much easier on the fly.Is it worth $1000,I think so,but, make sure it's a Bobs Hydro plate.Call me with anymore questions you may have,Mike

For me the Hyd plate is the only way to go on jack plates, you can also smooth out your ride in the rough stuff by lowering that plate where it will get good bite in the high water. Blue Steel put me on the 27 Tempest and it ran like a charm on a 250 HO, vey good hole shot and great top end.
