04' 285 Pro XL I want to put in a Hot Foot. Any tricks to make sure I won't go thru the bottom of the Hull with the screws? I was told to use 3/4 ".

Pull back the carpet and fiberglass a rectangular sheet of plywood under the area for mounting. On some boats you must do this because of the thin hull in this area.
