I would think with that kind of PSI you could jack that up a little bit more and get the RPM's up. With that your pressure will come down, R's go up and hopefully MPH as well. PSI/RPM's seem about right with it being as it is. I would think 5600-5800 and around 18-20lb's PSI would be about perfect and it seems by your numbers that it is attainable. Raise that up until your MPH go down as you have plenty of room to move.

24 rakers are pretty easy to find. There's one in the prop4sale forum for $200. Check out e-bay too. You need a good prop for the best performance. If it's really beat up, it can cause a lot of vibration in the lower unit and screw up seals, bearings, and gears.

I'd go w/ the 25 gade if your going to get a gade. If you don't have a jackplate, I'd suggest getting one. I run a 24 raker on mine and it runs about 3-4 mph more than the 25 gade. The gade is my spare. Hole shot is better w/ the gade though.

Well if you go with the 23" Gade you will see an increase in your RPM's but about the same MPH if you just swap those props out. I would still jack up that motor a bit before you do anything to get the RPM's up then change out props. That way your not chasing your tail if it's the motor or prop that's not getting the RPM's up. Up that motor a 1/2" and see what you get and then let us know, but I wouldn't do anything until then.

Re: sorry i forgot so i will as again (LEGACY_HUNTER02)

I had the evinrude 200 vindicator, same motor as the johnson venom I believe. I was real down on the motor, got about the same results you have now. I raised the motor until water pressure dropped the lowered it a quarter inch. Still only got about 63 mph at about 5800 rpms. I just bought the evinrude E-Tech 200 HO and ran 70 (gps) with the same prop. So personally, I hope you get more but I don't think you will from your venom. Good luck!

Make sure you get the Renegade thrust washer, its smaller than the Raker.

You may want to get a blow out ring also.

The hub on the Renegade is smaller than the Raker, there is a plastic ring (blow out ring) that clips into the gearcase to take up some of the room, it keeps the prop from blowing out when planning the boat.

    Part number 126669 @ $8.29.

Re: sorry i forgot so i will as again (LEGACY_HUNTER02)

I blow out ring sits inside the gear case and is usually made of plastic (black). It prevents exhaust from coming out of the side of the prop on the Renegades. If you do not use this on that prop your prop will blow out and it will take a long time to get on plane as the exhaust will go over the prop opposed to through the prop. You can get one from your dealer.

Re: sorry i forgot so i will as again (RUSTY63)

with the rpms that i have do you think that the motor will turn a 25 gade good enough
    prop is 4-1/4 below pad.
someone also said a tempest prop as well.
    any other opinions or ideas?

You should be able to spin a 25 Gade around the same RPM's.

Re: sorry i forgot so i will as again (LEGACY_HUNTER02)

5000 to 5500 Rpm's, water pressure 15 PSI at WOT, as for the "other company's props" I would ask Todd on the set up boards.
