    201 Xl

Hey fellas, I got couple of question to ask. Planning to order 08 201 pro xl with the 250 Etec H.O. in a month or two. Alright first , what jackplate 6" or 8", and what prop to go with. Next how does the boat handle and drive. Last can I order without the boarding ladder. Thanks

All '08 Stratos boats leave the factory with a ladder of some kind. Stratos boats are NMMA certified, and that is one of the requirements of the certification.

The boat rides and handles great. I think it's the best balance of ride, speed, handling, and storage in the industry. But, to reach its peak performance, you will have to give very small inputs to the wheel.

There's no way to know what prop to run for sure on your combo because the motor is not even out yet. With the new gear ratio, it will be test and see kind of thing to start with. People can say "You'll need a xxxxxx" but they really don't know because the motor is not out on a 201 yet.

Either the 6" or 8" will work fine. Some lean toward the 8", I outran people with the same boat as me last year with the only difference being I had a 6" and they had 8". Get whichever is the cheapest if they are going to be manual. If getting hydraulic go ahead and get the 8".

That should be a screaming combo. Can't wait to see some pictures.

I agree with Jason on the ride/handling. I've owned other brands. Some do things better than others but for overall speed, ride, handling, holeshot, storage, and sheer killer looks - Stratos is it.

There's only two kinds they are installing and I have no idea as to why they choose which one. They have the fold down ladder, and then the new e-ladder.

In bass rigs.....the 285 is the only boat with the EZ step....all others are the Champion style ladder.

    There you go.

The EZ Ladder is not EZ to use when getting back in the boat. The fold-up ladder can be used much easier.
