    Trailer Bunk Board Question

Is there a reason that trailer bunk boards are beveled at the back end? I'm replacing the bunks on my Javelin trailer, and I wonder if it's necessary to cut the back edge of the bunk before sealing.

The trailer is a EZ loader, and the bunks are original...

Re: Trailer Bunk Board Question (Hoosierbasser)

Think they are done that way to keep from wearing out the carpet on the sharp edge. Now your trailer should be in the water enough not to do this. I just replaced mine and added enough length to get them past the transom, angled the back and also the sides of the bunks. Because that was where mine had the most wear. Also used 2x10's cut down to size because I couldnt find any with no knotts unless you went with wider boards, all the 2x4's were junk.
