I'm looking at a 96 Stratos 285 with a 92 Rude 150 faststrike... No JP unk 3 blade prop.. What can I expect speed wise from this boat with 2 people?... Can I see mid 60's? with a jp and worked prop fm mark or do I need to keep looking...

first off mid 60's with a 150 on an almost 19' boat that is not really light is well kind of hard especially with 2 people and a full tank of gas and tackle, as for the motor a 1992 rude is a not a faststrike fast strikes were johnsons. a decent motor but again on a fairly heavy boat with a load and no jp and even with a jp and a reworked prop maybe low 60 with a light light load. heck my 201 with a 200 johnson still hasnt gotten to 65 mph (gps). if you are looking for speed and such go with a 19 footer with a 200 hp like a 295 with a 200 on the rump a jackplate and a tempest prop will hit 65 with a fairly good load.

i have a 283 1998 with a fichted sorry cant spell 150 johnson. it hits 57.7 with full fish load full live wells and 2 peaople over 200 lbs. witha 23 pitch txp i just got it hit 54 .5 with a 23 pitch tr04 but i think itll get to 60 with same on little calmer water. it was way to choppy to go all out with all the boats when we tested it
oh they do say them faststrikes run a bit faster than mine
