    Set up help please!!

    97 409tdc
    Moderately loaded
    half tank
    225 Vindicator
    6"plate
    22 pitch
Im at altitude but what should i expect to get with "optimum setup"
    Prop reccomendations etc?

I ran this boat last weekend at 4500 feet with a 22 pitch i was cranking to almost 6k rpms so I backed out to 5400. I was at 56 (Edit i hit 58) mph at 6000 with that prop for the split second that I pushed it.

I have not done a pad measurement as we had some catastrophic trailer failure last weekend...Nothing like takin the first trip and losing a wheel....Tire opened up like a melon! no bad bearings!.

first you did not say what 22 pitch prop you ran, also have you had the motor done for Hi alt? if not and you bought the boat from a person who uses it only at low alt ( 3000 or less) the carbs need adjusting for the higher alt, according to manual ( owners) need to be done at dealer

Only once a year will you be below 4500 feet. I'd get it jetted for here. It'll run fine where ever you go after that.
