    Stratos 176XT Rod Locker

The rod locker on the 176 claims to hold rods up to 6'-7" long. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I can easily fit my 7'-6" swim bait rod in there as well. The holes on the ends of the organizers are open and it easily accommodates an additional foot at the bow of the boat. Pretty sweet.

Yeah Norcal, thanks for the info. Alot of guys asked that question of us at the boat show and all we could say was what the brochure said. Good info and thanks for posting.

That is great to know. Hey NorCal did you buy your boat at C&C in Citrus Heights? If so what did you think of them? I am thinking of getting a 176XT from them.

Yeah ... bought it at C&C in Citrus Heights. They were great. I also met with and tested a 176 at Marine Unlimited in Santa Rosa. C&C beat them in price and their service, help, and knowledge was way better. There isn't a lot of price movement in these boat because it's set from the manufacturer. I suggest buying from someone close to where you live so servicing it is easy. The boat rocks ... love it so far.

Well C&C is less than a mile from my house so they are the closest. If you ever have a back seat open let me know I would like to spend a day fishing in a 176XT to get a better feel than just a hot lap around the lake.

This is interesting to me, since I do more muskie fishing than bass fishing and have really been looking at the 176xt. Is there any additional room or just 7'6"? I have an 8' and 8'6" rod along with a couple 7'6"'s and am curious to know if they would fit.

If anyone is looking at the 176xt. I have a 2003 17xl that you can get from me cheaper than the 176xt. It is garaged and in great condition. A much better boat than the 176xt. It has a 115 yamaha on it as well. If you are around Oklahoma or are interested let me know.

    Schuler -

7'-6" is max ... an 8' or an 8'-6" rod will definitely not fit in there. Muskie fishing usually occurs in pretty big water right? The 176 is very low profile and isn't a big water boat.

Big water in Minnesota and Canada. I fish Illinois and Iowa mostly. Also, a little Wisconsin, nothing over 5,000 acres. (except the Mississippi) Fishing out of a deep-v is terrible IMO. I don't know how other guys do it.
