To anyone that has a 201 out there or just running a tandem with the size range of boat....What pressure are you running your tires at?
Thanks,
Rob

50psi....max it says to on the sidewall with Goodyear Marathons...![]()
Depends on what load class tire you have. Load class B Goodyear Marathon trailer tires inflate to 35 psi. Load class C 50 psi. Check the side wall and it will have the load class/range and max inflation.
I have the load class b and it is max at 35psi.
I was wondering if class b tires on a tandem trailer is ok or should I be looking at buying new class c tires?

I do have the 50 PSI tires but was really wondering if the trailer tends to bounce more with that much pressure which is why I'm asking.
Just purchased the boat a month or so ago and took it out on the freeway for the first time last week and when I hit the 65 to 70 MPH range the vibrations were bad. Took the trailer to get checked out yesterday and I'm going to replace two tires (rear brake ones). Hopfully this will get rid of the vibrations!
Thanks for the replies.

Make sure you balance the tires too, it will make a world of difference.![]()
But should they be at 50psi or less? I agree does the 50psi make it ride worse, and does having it lower damage the tires or anything else?
The majority of the time you see someone posting that they had a had a failure of a Marathon, it was underinflated. I put 15,000 miles on my last trailer and my current ride is fast approaching 10,000 miles and I (knock on wood) have yet to have any issues. Wear evenly, good tread life, and straight tracking.
The tires were under inflated... between 38 and 45 PSI on all of them when I first got the boat and I brought them all up to 45 with the thinking that the max of 50 would bounce the boat too much.
When I get the new tires next week I will have them all inflated to 50 PSI and go from there to see how it rides.
I have a single axle trailer and was running load class B tires at 35 psi and I was experiencing some trailer bounce. When those tires got worn I switched to a C class with 50 psi and trailer bounce went away. I would suspect that a single axle would be worse than a tandem about bouncing. I think the reason for the better ride on the C class tire is because they are made for a more heavy load and probably have a stiffer side wall. I don't know what the reason but in my situation a C class at 50 psi is the only thing I will run from now on.
Rob,
I run mine at 50psi cold and it is smooth as silk when towing...I don't feel any bounce when highway or interstate towing... Run them at 50 and you will be fine... Hey, we still need to get together to try to figure out my map card issue...
