Was that GPS or speedo? I would think you will easily get low 70s with that rig.
Mine is still kind of slow. The max has been 73.8.

Get rid of the glad and get a Raker 26 or 28 pitch prop and raise your motor up. You will see 70-75 mph

Change to the 26 and you should do better. 75?? I doubt it. I had my 21SS for 2 years and moved stuff and changed props as well as getting mine worked by Mark. Best was 73.6 on GPS. Now if he lets Grant drive the boat, he might can get close to 80mph.

no weed ting. I know it does not sound great but It was my first time in a fiberglass boat with a jackplate and trim and that size motor, so the learning curve is still kind of a square.

3 Blade Raker or 4? I've got a 4 blade 26 Pitch Renegade on my Johnson 225HO, best I've got fully loaded has been 65.4 GPS always wondering if a different prop would be worth the money. Previous owner said he had tried them all pretty much and this was the best he could find.

Hey, what's that supposed to mean? I can't help it if my rig is faster than yours just cause I don't look like an NFL linebacker...

Raker's only come in 3 Blades, with even pitch numbers. The Renegade's are the 4 Blades with odd pitch numbers.

Now, for your setup question.....if the previous owner tried all kinds of props, but never adjusted his setup, the Renegade might have been the best. But, that would have been the only way the Renegade is the best. And, you do not have a 26 pitch Renegade. They have never made one. Are you going by what is stamped on the prop, or what the previous owner told you? Look inside the prop, there should be some numbers stamped on the hub. Should be, for instance, 14 1/2 X 26 (That's a Raker). The Renegade will have 13 5/8 (or something like that) X 25 or 27, etc.
