    Aerator timer(2000 21SS)

I have been operating the livewell by hand by turning the main aerator pump on and off because it does not cycle with the "MAIN" aerator. Is it supposed to cycle with this pump or is it supposed to cycle with the "AUX." aerator. I fear this will be a problem when summer comes because the battery gets very weak if I let it run the duration of a tournament. Also, where is the timing/timer module located? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a recirculator? People do it different ways, but once I fill my livewells with the main aerator, all I run the rest of the day is the recirc. Mainley because I always use some catch and release and once you add that, I was told you should not pump any new water in. sounds like our boats are set up a littel different because i dont have an "aux" aerator, but check and the recirc deal and let us know what you find.

I have a 99 model 21SS. The way mine works is to select which livewell to fill (port, starboard or both) using the livewell selector switch on the dash. Then turn the other dash switch auto to manual start filling with water. Once filled, I turn that switch to auto and the pump(s) kick on every few minutes adding fresh, oxygenated water. When weighing in is in the parking lot area, I turn on the recircualtor pump(s) to keep the fish oxygenated.

Also, mine has two little red LED's on the left corner of the front bow panel that each lights up when the pump(s) cut on so that I know they are working without having to double check all the time. I don;t know if this was a factory option or not, but sure is a nice thing to have.

On most of the Stratos timers I've worked on or helped fix, they are right behind your dash switches. The timer part usually is about an inch around and about 31/2 or 4 inches long and has the wires plugging into the top of it. Pull your panel off that has your switches on it and they are "usually" right behind there wired closely to the switches. These go bad a lot and won't allow the timer function to work. Take a test light or multimeter and see if your getting power all the way through each side of your switch, to and from it. I've seen several of them go out and you can visually look at them and see a burnt or melted looking place on them. Good indicator something went wrong with it there. If they work on manual but not on auto there is a pretty good chance thats your problem. That would at least be my starting point.

You should have 2 of those timers in there. If one works and the other doesn't try swapping them and see if it starts working. That will tell you for sure. I picked up a timer last summer for a friend at C&O Marine while I was getting my boat worked on and I think it was about 35$ or so. There kind of expensive for whats there.
