Older stratos boat with kevlar

Does any one have one of the older stratoses with kevlar and do they seem any lighter or faster? Does any one know much about where the kevlar was in the boat?

If I remember correctly, it was on the hull and transom. I don't think it was on the top cap. Cajun had a commercial back in the 80's showing someone shooting a handgun at one of their kevlar hulls. I don't know what that was supposed to accomplish, but there sure were a bunch of them Cajuns in SW Georgia after that commercial ran!

a friend of my has one I think it a 97 195 he has removed the boats decals has a merc 175efi on it slow out of the hole but flat out hauls the mail will out run any of the boats with 200 on them around here he tells me when he got it that it was suppose to wiegh 300lbs less then the same hull in glass. thier is another just like his around only it is all glass and daul cons. not even close at wot. I believe he said 70.5 at wot (gps) and it dose handle rough water very well.

My '96 201 had a kevlar hull. It was pretty quick for only having a 200...Would have been a mid-70's boat with full hp...

Running in Louisiana (where the Cajuns are) you need a bullet proof hull. Swamp rats shoot at bass boaters, remember the classic.

Were the '97 201's a kevlar hull and transom ? I thought that didn't start till '98 .
