    weight question

I have a 2001 Venom 17 with a 90HP Johnson. I am planning to install a new boathouse lift and was trying to get a good estimate of the weight of this rig.
    Any help appreciated.

    Re: weight question (mikkeeh)

I'll see what I can dig up, but here are my best guesstimations.

    Boat 1400
    Motor 400
    Batteries 150
    Tackle 200

Those estimates are a little heavy. That comes to a shade over 2,000. If it were me I'd get a lift for at least 3,000 lbs and that should cover your boat and anything else that might add some weight to your rig such as unexpected water onboard. I personally wouldn't put a lift in a boathouse that was under a 5,000 lb capacity.

    Re: weight question (1niceBlazer)

Thanks for the info. Thats close to what I figured. I think a 3000# lift will be ok. I actually have a 2 bay boathouse. Keep my pontoon in the other on with a 4500# lift.
    Thx again for the info.
