Little help with E-tec updates, please

I am having some trouble with the engine stalling when shifting into gear on initial start-up. After engine runs a bit it is fine. it seems to surge some when I first start it as well. I am bringing it in next week and would like to know what I should have checked as well as what updates I need.

Do I need the deflector pin update? I currently have the QC10PEPB plugs, so I know those should be changed. Also any map updates?

Finally, the age old question - should I change back to the XD50 setting??

My 200HO was doing the same thing. Had the deflector pins installed and she runs like a top. They also changed the plugs at the same time...
