    Power pack

Is there a way to test to see if a motor problem is caused by a bad power pack? Motor just won't turn over.. cranks but no spark.. 1994 evinrude 150 intruder.. can i test stator, ignition or optical sensor? Already checked the safety lanyard connection..

look for a crack around the top of the wheel.... for the optical sensor will malfuction and motor will not crank if it is craked... this is the little plastic wheel on top...

changing the pack on my 45 merc classic fixed that very same symptom this Spring

I had to get it running before the sale of the boat so 425$ latter got that engine roaring.

    sucks....

( I know other things like the kill switch, triggers etc... can do the same but i had gone has far as I could..and my dealer was trustworthy if not cheap.)

Check your starter and the condition of the battery. If your battery is weak, or the
brushes on the starter are worn out, you may not be spinning the motor fast enough to
generate sufficient fire to get her started. We just fixed the same problem on my buddy
Andy's XP175 last week. He went ahead and ordered a new starter and it starts first
    crank now.
