    C and O marine/Empire state smackdown!!!

Well, it's game over... I'm trading in the 10 yr old champ for a.... new 200xl etec combo!! will be leaving here in NY wed, am hopefully be waiting at the door of C and O thurs am!! Craziest damn thing I ever tried!!
After alot of research and internet surfing, I decided that stratos is really an awesome boat. you guys here really sold me on C and O. From what I read here, the 200xl etec combo should go alittle faster than my 58 mph champ!!
Joe at C and O really made it easy. I originally wanted a used or leftover boat but he said " those 06's got to go..." Sold!! already had one picked out! then he said" that boat needs to be in your driveway" sold... I guess he must sell vacuum cleaners on his day off...
check out the yellow white and silver 200 on the boat trader section at the C and o site. so wed morning me and my girlfriend will hit the road. crazy...
Thanks again everyone here for the sell... I'll try and give a blog type deal of the whole trip after I get back...

That's great! You'll really like the way C&O takes care of you. It will be worth the drive. You will also love that 200 Pro/E-TEC combo. I had that in 2005 and really loved it. The performance/ride will amaze you.

One thing though, you may want to prepare your girlfriend because after you see how nice everything is down here in the south you'll end up moving down here.

Let us know how everything goes and get us some pics up as soon as you can.

Hey I was thinking about that one at C & O too. My pocket book wasn't but I was. I've driven one that one of the guys in the bass club has here and it's SMOKIN'. Nice ride. Hope you enjoy.

    we are back...

2000 miles round trip and we are back!! new boat is in the yard!! someone send me an email that says" new boat pics" I'll send them out so you can post them. here is a short write up on the trip.
left here in NY at 7:15am me and my girlfriend drove about 14 hours in great weather till around 9:15 and we stayed over in cave city KY. overnight tornado warnings and a monster thunderstorm rolled through. (do they call every room when a tornado is coming?) wanted to leave at 6am the next morning...
woke up at 6:15 exhausted. got on the road an hour later to drive through rain the last 2 hours. Arrived at Cand O marine in a downpour and lightning storm. 6 hours later we were on the road home with new boat in tow!! everyone at the marina were the best boat people I've ever dealt with. I saved thousands of dollars by going there! I am a little PO'd at you guys here at the BBC though, you never said they had a full tackle shop there!! I was too exhausted from the ride and new boat jitters to really enjoy it. (bought 6 crankbaits)
about 3 hours into the ride home(picture with me standing by boat) dark clouds formed and we drove through the mother of all storms. If you watched the news thurs and heard about 170,000 homes without power, yup, I was driving right through it! worst storm I ever been in...
made it to cinn. thurs night. got up at 6am the next day and drove home in rain the whole day! very slow going!
if your wondering, got on the water at 6pm and WOW! why did I wait so long! we just took it easy under 3500 rpms. ETEC is amazing! dave put an TXP prop on it so I guess will move right along. Trolling motor was goofed up though. I had them put 60" shaft on it instead of 45". (required in nys) seems prop is running backwards. will call them this am to get it squared away.
thanks for the help here everyone!!

I'm probably wrong, but I seem to remember that Minn Kota TM's run backward. Is that what you have.

Glad to see someone else was as excited about their new boat as I was!!!!!!!! I'm 41 years old and finally bought a NEW Bassboat. Waited most my life for it and it took two or three days to wipe the grin off my face!!! I bought an '06 294 Pro XL w/ a 200hp VMAX EFI. I've only started tweeking it and am running 69.9 on GPS without a jackplate and the origanal 25p t1 prop.

    Re: we are back... (javelinbob)

we got out fishing a bit this weekend. Boat runs amazing. the ETEC is just the best. I am very not used to driving a boat that fast. I mainly been doing alot of easy cruising . put my foot in it twice though and holy crap!!
TM is a minn kota. Dave the rigging is sending me parts to right the situation. I had a bigger TM put on when I was down there, they wired it up and hit the button. prop spun, no problem right? When the guy says take it down to the lake and try it before you drive 1000 miles home, do it. I got real good at running it backwards this weekend.
next problem, I got a new LCX -18c to install on dash but no place to put it. any tips on wiring and transducer installation? thanks!

Hey Dave....we appreciate your business! My Dave said he slipped you a mickey on the TM....said things were wayyyyyy too boring for you while you were here

Glad you like the rig...it'll only get better in the next few weeks! We know you could have purchased any boat from any dealer you choose, the fact that you picked Stratos along with C&O is very gratifying!

    Thanks a million!

Re: C and O marine/Empire state smackdown!!! (Todd Morgan)

Danny I wasn't as far away as Capt was. But I too made a long drive for my C and O Stratos. Let me tell you it was well worth the trip. You see, C & O is a BBC sponsor. We try to support our sponsors here. Not to mention the multitudes of happy new and past owner satisfaction stories that have been posted here in the past. Whether its Stratos, Blazer or any other line of boats they sell the service is 2nd TO NONE!!!! I could have bought closer as well. But I am glad I didn't!! Thanks to Todd and the gang at C & O!!!

Boring, how can hail and lightning be called boring? boat is great but I will be bugging Dave soon about trolling motor. Great place you got down there, just need food and drinks for people who drive along ways... when my buddy sees the boat first hand, he'll be callin'...
