can anyone at c+o help me?
called C+O tuesday and talked to Steve he said he may have the part to fix my gas tank, well after a mechanic looked at it he has said that the boat needs a new tank since the molded in nut to hold the pick up tube is no good and there is no way to get in to remove or to add a new one since a persons hand does not fit the sensor hole.
I just called C+O to try to talk to Steve and well got a lady who would not let me speak to him nor would she tell me when I might be able to . I finally asked if he would be in by or be able to be talked to by say 1:30 east coast time, she said no and hung up.
Steve and I had talked about a new tank for the boat and i wanted to get a price since he stated the prices on the net were wrong. Is there anyone at C+O that a person can talk to on this matter or is it only Steve?
Thanks for any help

lk when you get them on the phone you won't ever get better service. My experience is they will do all they can to help you out. The problem is those guys are helping everyone else in the world out too. Its unbelievable the amount of free advice and service these guys take the time to share. Unfortunately there is only a few of them and so many of us. Outside of taking time to talk to us they do have to get a boat or 2 sold or a few worked on in the shop. I can understand your frustrations when calling and probably getting Jennifer on the phone. She is a tough cookie, but she has to be with us thick skulled guys. I have called and called for Todd without getting past her. I would hate to be a boyfriend trying to date her daughter!!
If you left a message for Steve he will call you back.

Is it possible to just cut a large enough hole to remove the old set up? I would think you could do that with a dremmel tool and then add a new anti siphon valve and pick up to a 1/8" piece of aluminum. Install it with some gas resistant caulk or gasket and some SS screws.

Re: can anyone at c+o help me? (Ohirolina)UPDATE
it may be possible but the tank is 14 years old and it may not hold up ( brittle). It may be able to be done but the trick is getting a seal that will work and not leak. I talked to a few mechanics and they all said it would be best to replace the tank to be totally safe
<UPDATE> Talked to Steve a few minutes ago and he is checking if he has a 25 or not , if not he said he will check on a 50 to see if it will fit under the seat in place of the 2 I have now.
Great person to work with and talk to Thanks C+O Steve Siemens
