I am getting a used boat, I am looking for the plate that shows the hull id number...and am hoping it will show the year and model on it as well. Where the heck should I look for it? It is a Javelin 379B. I think it is a 1998, but the registration shows a 1997. Also there is a small black strip on the right side of the transom...that number doesn't match the hull id on the past registration...forgive the ignorance, but this is my first boat =)

As far as I know, the black strip is the hull ID #. It is on my '96 201. It matches my registration. I would be careful if the hull ID and the registration does not match! ...
The last two digits of the hull ID should be the model year.

ok, I got it. Thanks for the response. It looks like my brother confused his paper work and registered the wrong hull id! He spoke with the WRC and they said I could just submit the corrected information when I register it...
