    Thinking about a 201

I am looking to pick up a 201 Pro XL with a Merc. 225 0r 250 XS sport.
I was hoping to have a few questions answered by people who own them.

1- What size jack plate and is Hydraulic worth the $
2- 3 or 4 blade prop (do Stratos boats have good bow lift?)
3- What would you add or change about your set up?

    Thank you for your help
    Joe

    Re: Thinking about a 201 (5 Alive)

If you havn't rode in a 201 you should go take a ride in one. They are incredible boats. As for the hydro jackplate being worth the money, I don't know. I'll let you know in a couple weeks because I have one coming for mine. I just want it to help out in shallow water. I along with most the guys I know running 201's are running 3 blade props. I'm by no means saying 3 blades are best that's just what we run. As far as bow lift, I think they have good lift. They don't ride real nose high like some boats but you don't have to worry about nose diving through waves from the bow being to low. You just really need to ride in one.

As far as anything I would change, I can't really think of anything. They are set up to fish better than any other boat out there. Their storage and tackle organization can't be beat. I've been in a lot of different boats and none fish as well as a Stratos.
