Thought I'd try both on my 115 E-Tec. The Rebel is a 15 3/4 X 15, the Viper is a 14 3/4 X 17. I like them both; the Rebel for slow to midrange handling/holeshot, the Viper for top end.
But as I was putting them up today I noticed a significant difference. The Viper has a smooth regular finish, the Rebel looks like a cheap knock-off with it's irregular surface. Are all the Rebel's this way?
Actually, I 'tested' a total of 8 3 blade propellers (all brand new despite appearances):
15X17 aluminum BRP
15 1/2X15 aluminum BRP
15X16 SST painted stainless BRP
14 3/4X17 Hustler aluminum
14 3/4X19 Hustler aluminum
15X17 Piranha modular composite
15 3/4X15 Rebel polished stainless
14 3/4X17 Viper polished stainless
Results to follow.
Very good observation. I can tell you for certainty that the Rebel is made by Solas which is not exactly known for high tolerance propeller making. I am not certain who makes the Viper for them.
