A buddy cannot get much( 2-4 lbs) on 250 hp. Changed pump twice, cleaned popit twice, water coming out water line to gauge. He has checked intake screen and lite air pressure makes gauge work, but not water pressure. Pee stream is strong and no heat alarm. My guess is popit spring week or bad gauge. What's your thoughts?
Blow compressed air to the gauge to test it. Replace as needed. Replace the pressure relief valve. Is cheap and pretty easy to do and eliminates it as a problem.
My hpdi idles at 3lbs PsI. Close to 20 PSi at wot.

Yeah, replace the pressure control valve. I had 6psi wide open before I did mine. Back up to 15 instantly after. Had a small buildup of stones inside keeping the valve wedged open I presume and probably wearing out the gasket.
The pee stream might seem strong now but stand back once the PCV is replaced. Laser beam.
