    transducer mount on a 200zx

Buddy of mine has a 96 200zx he's about to mount a HM 597DI but has a problem with transducer location. Instructions say mount transducer 15 inches to the right of the prop on the lower level but this puts the transducer right at the bunker. so when he loads it - it'll bust it.

Surely someone else has had this problem and can chime in?

Oh and he doesnt want an in the hull transducer...

    Re: transducer mount on a 200zx (jdcarter74)

I have the same boat. For what it's worth, I mounted my side scan transducer on the 1st step, about 4 inch's from the jackplate, it worked just fine. I'm not sure about the model he has, but it will come out of the water when the boat gets on plane. So he won't get any reading. Good luck to him.
