    Etech not feeling good

Took my 2005 200hp Etech ho out today. Due to health problems the boat had been sitting in my drive way for about 3 months. Motor Started first turn. Looked like it was going to run good. Started off, go up to about 5000 rpm, trimed up, looking to get it up and run, started lifting with the hydraulic lift, and motor shut down. Looks like it could be a water preasure issue. Have never changed the water pump. Tried running again and did notice the water presure barely getting to 15psi. From this point on I could not get it past 1500rpm.

Will bring back to the dealer. Does this sound like a water pump issue?

That sounds like a problem with the TPS ( Throttle Position Sensor ) to me, starts and idles fine but will not accelerate. If you have the diagnostic software you can check the TPS voltage and %.

Dan, when It shuts down, all the lights light up, than when it gets back down to idle they go off. When you go to get back on top it would start running and than shut back down.

Given the additional information you have provided it now sounds electrical. Bad ground or shorted wire somewhere. Since it is still under warranty I would get it to your shop and let them read whatever codes it is setting.

I agree w/ Champion man. Battery or a shorted trim switch. Something is making it lose contact or sending + to - somewhere. Check the battery connections befor you hit the dealer.
