Skeeter sx176 with yamaha vmax 150 ox66 setup help

Ok I have a skeeter sx176. I just upgraded from a 115 yami to a v max 150 fuel injected. I have my motor set to the highest setting without a jackpate which puts me at 5 1/2 inches below pad. I first tried a 25p trophy and was only turning 5200rpm @ 57mph so I went to a 23p tempest plus I'm now turning close to 5500rpms @ still 57mph?? I may be wrong but wouldn't you think I'd be getting more out of this for being that small a boat? Would a jackplate make much of a difference? Or is it not worth the time? I know I can definitely come up with my motor but if I would just gain say 2-3mph it's really not worth my time and money to buy a jackplate and set it all up. What you guys think?

I think you're running way too deep. I have a zx176c with a 12" jp and am running about 2-7/8" below pad. You should really be running about 5800-5900rpms at WOT.

Is your boat rated for a 150?I noticed a zx176 somewhere else that had a 150V max on the back. Mine is actually only rated for a 130hp

ype one of the last years the 176 hull was rated for a 150 and came stock with a 12" jp.
