Guys, I just purchased a 2008 Skeeter 21i w/ a 250 series 2 and a 10" jackplate. My question is what kind of top end should i be looking to get out of this set up? Also I am ugrading to a hydraulic jackplate. What jackplate is the better choice for this hull a 10" or a 12". Thanks in advance.

Seems like most of the high end Skeeters I see have the 12" jackplate on them. I have a 2010 20i and it has a 12" atlas hydraulic plate that has worked great. With my 250 SHO I am getting 76 mph. With the 21i and 250 2 stroke I would think you would be between 70-72mph, based on the reports that I have seen. I really like the Atlas plate with the LED gauge in the dash, very easy to use. Congrats on the boat, you are going to love the way it rides. My 20i really impressed me in some rough water this weekend.

Have the same boat and motor. i played with it till no end. i have not seen 70 yet. 69 was the best,whats crazy from a full tank of gas to 1/4 tank its the same speed. grant it i came out of a 20' bullet w/ merc 250 but i thought i could get 72-73 out of it. iam clueless right about now. might try my 27 tempest. of that dont work ill get ahold of todd at hydromotive and go try some of his out. let me know if u get anything figured out. cant seem to get much from anyone on here.
What prop are you running now?
Are you front heavy? should pick up speed with 3/4 tank difference even .5-1

Are you running a 27 T-1 right now? If so you may not be turning it to its full potential. I dropped from a 27 to a 25 and over all it performs better on my ZX250, especially with a load.

iam running the 25t......when i got the boat the jack plate was on the 4th dot on the jack plate. i have had it as high as 14. but the best speed was on 7. I might try running a 27 tempest that i ran on my old TR21. Id love to get 72 out of it. I ran a 20XD bullet for 4 years that would run in the upper 80's. Love this boat the 21i is great,would just like to get a lil more MPH out of it. where do most guys run the jack plate on this boat w/ 250. Iam not to heave in the front either. Just ran the boat yesterday for the first time. I was getting between 72.8 and 73.3 mph (gps) @ 5900 rpm. Yamaha 25 T1 prop, 10" slidemaster jackplate on the 7th dot w/ a half tank of fuel and 2 people (485 lbs).
Looks like i need to put mine on #7 then. when i hit 69 i had full load then and the river had alot of trash in it. maybe thats the sweet spot for this set up. Thanks
