    Older 73sv Software Update

I have an older model Echo Map 73sv non CHIRP think 2014-2015 that the previous owner installed on the Stratos I bought and it still has software version 2.70 if I'm not mistaken. I also bought the LakeVu HD SD card from the previous boat owner for 75 bucks which is also from 2015, fortunately for me he never used the 1 free map update you get for purchasing the lake card... So i did yesterday. Seems also he never registered the 73sv either on Garmin Express... So i did. I had a spare SD card laying around and loaded the latest software version 4.10 2017.6.12 on to it so to update the unit. So my question: Is there gonna be any conflict with using the updated LakeVu card in the unit after it's been updated to version 4.10? I think I read on here that you have to leave the sd card in because of the unit being an older model, what will happen if I install the updated LakeVu card instead and leave that in after the unit has been updated to the latest software version?

And another question: Will this unit be able to do Quickdraw?

Yes, your unit has QD capabilities. Also know that you can directly record QD contours to your mapping card.

Regarding mapping, the memory limitation applies to updating the internal, built-in LakeVu map. If you tried to do this, then yes, since the 2017 internal mapping update is so large, it would not actually update the built-in map, but read it from the card.

But, based on your description, you actually have the accessory LakeVu HD mapping card. With all accessory cards, you must leave these cards in the unit to read the accessory card mapping. Just keep running the accessory LakeVu card and not worry about the internal, built-in mapping version.

One more question: Can I still update the unit to software version 4.10?

    Thanks Todd.
