    trolling motor mount

Need to stabilize my trolling motor from bouncing on an sx 200. Problem is the shaft and head run along the gunnel and the head is practically outside the boat. I guess its a wierd angle but the only way to mount the trolling motor on this model. Therefore the minnkota kit wont work unless I want the support bar to rest on the gel coat as it wont rest on the deck due to the angle. The Ram mount option would have to be super tall like 10" so thats out. Any idears?

    Re: trolling motor mount (ccm)

My boat has the bounce buster resting on the gel. No problems at all from it.

Like Neil said, Bounce Busters on the gel are/were pretty common. But I agree with you in that I too like it on the carpet a lot better.

Pictures of what you're working with would probably help most of the guys on here.

Still dont have my boat yet from storage but heres a pic of another boat and something I may try. In this pic the shaft etc is in line with the glass/ gunwale. In my boat the head of my motor is actually angled just outside of the boat.

I would think the RAM would need to be nearly vertical to support the motor. It has a lot of leverage working against it.

The 1.5" models won't hold a medium sized depthfinder in rough water.

Take a piece of an old mouse pad or something similar. Glue it to the gunwale and let the bounce buster land on it.

When it gets beat up, rip it off and glue on another. The bounce buster will eventually muck up the gel coat if you don't do something like this.
