Ive got a 2003 zx200. It doesnt matter which tank I switch to on the control panel, the gauge always reads 1/4 tank lower than it should. I thought maybe the sending units needed adjusting so I removed the starboard side sending unit. And with it still hooked up I raised the float all the way as if the tank was full and sure enough the gauge only read 3/4 full. Any suggestions? Thanks all.
The only thing i could think of is a new sending unit or get used to it....I have an 05 SX190 and it's been off since day one. Looks to be some decent sending units compared to what comes with the boat...i just never bought one so cant say if they are better or not. Seems like the would since the float is straight up and down vs. swinging on an arm.

Good link thanks. I check the levels by eye too. Just one of those little things that bugs the crap out of me.
I once carefully measured, then used a black Sharpie to make a 3 inch line on the tank at halfway..after trailer leveled of course...then made 2 more halfway of that one (above and below) and you should have all u need for easily showing 1/4s...
tanks may be oddly shaped but it will be close on the halves and fairly close on the quarters.
remember boats are rarely level in the water so fuel gauges will reflect that...

I know what you mean. After I had bought mine I brought it back and put that on the work list and they replaced the sending unit but it still never read correctly.
