    Skeeter Fuel Tank ?

So I just bought a '04 ZX225 from a BBC Member. I took it out the other day. When I left the landing, the button for the starboard side tank said it was full, and the port gauge was 1/4tank. The knob in the back compartment was set to the port side. After a couple of hours, the port side still said 1/4tank, but the starboard side now said 1/2tank. What's going on here? Guy I bought it from said nothing was wrong with the gauge.

In the back compartment is the fuel tank switch, port and starboard are on each side, and then on the top and bottom of the circular switch it says dual on both. What does that mean, it uses both tanks? Help me out here skeeter family.

was the long arm or short part of the switch pointing to port side? the short part should point to where it pulls from. has kind of an arrow point thingy.

yes. when pointing up and down it uses both tanks.

and in my experience, it doesn't pull 100% equal, but fairly close. Some pull only from one tank and then switch it over. I just run it on dual all the time.

Yep pull off both tanks but one will tend to pull a little more than the other. That's what works for me.

I made that mistake once and ran out of gas on one side and had a hell of a time getting it refired.

I agree with those that say it doesnt pull perfectly even on dual.

Re: Skeeter Fuel Tank ? (Neilslure)

i think it pulls from one more than the other based on the load in the boat. if im fishing by myself and fill up both tanks it will pull almost all from the starboard tank. if i fish with somebody else it will pull from both.

I posted the same question on here a few weeks ago. Mine was set to "duel" but seemed to pull more from one tank than the other. As suggested on here folks told me to keep it set to "duel" as they do not pull equally. I have kept it on "duel" and I am now seeing it eventually equaling out.

dual all the time but DITTO on it not being an equal draw one tank always takes more than other for some reason

My pulls pretty close to even from both when set on duel. One of my gauges is not that accurate so this solves that problem too.

Re: Skeeter Fuel Tank ? (Skeeter ZX-190)

mine doesnt either. i now run off one side till its about 1/4, then fill the other side and run off it till 1/4, then switch back. i can keep an eye on fuel better that way

Who's boat did you buy ...... Nutman's old boat?

Like everyone said, put it on 'Both' ....... it will be the starboard side that draws the most ....... or at least everyone I've ever talked to say that ........ or they say 'driver side' b/c they don't know the difference between port/starboard, or bow/stearn.

+1 and my fuel gauge is definitely not accurate. I have about a half in both tanks yet my gauge says they are close to empty

Re: Skeeter Fuel Tank ? (Ranger391v)

I bought a boat out of Morganton, NC.

And I had the back end of the knob set on the tank I wanted, not the little arrow. I looked, and saw what the problem was. It is set on dual now tho.

Mine seems to pull from the side of the long arm not the pointed short side
