I pick up my new boat from the factor tomorrow. I wonder what the break in period is on the New SHO motors?

Interested to hear your numbers. Love my ZX225 but it would be even sweeter with a four stroke that would run the same or outrun my current 2.
Congrats!
Let me give you a nickel's worth of advice from an OLD fisherman who has broken in more than one outboard motor.
Ignore every thing the "experts" on this page tell you.
Read the Owner's manual and follow it explicitly. The computer will know if you don't.
I've been breaking in motors for almost 50 years now, following the manual, and never had a problem. Every size motor from 7.5HP to 200HP. Just spend the time and follow the book. You won't regret it.
Rule of Life No. 11 (Probably No. 1 in 21st Century) - DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE INTERNET.
i am a expert and i say follow your owners manual![]()

I'm jealous...I want that motor...
Amen!
Its like all those guys running 5,900 back when every manual said 5,500 max...
tweaking should be AFTER the break-in by the manual...its a pain, did my last
Oct 2007.

I gotta ask, why the ZX225 verses the new fx model built specifically for that motor?
LOL, I am sure it will work just fine. It is in fact listed 34 lbs LIGHTER than the 2-StrokeI giggle because what does "built specifically" really mean?
I mean the lower-units are the same, the weights are similar. The boat has no idea which ones a 4-stroke and which ones a 2-stroke. They run the same props. Horsepower is horsepower...
I really think its just a marketing ploy, plain and simple![]()

I would love to have a SHO 225 on my ZX. I think the boat would really come alive.

If its all it's cracked up to be, man....my boat already runs 70 fully loaded and 72-73 by myself. If it's stronger than my OX66, that would be something....![]()
I want to here some numbers when you get the rig on the water. The SHO should out perform the HPDI pretty good.
