    Re: New Skeeter!!!!!!!! (BlackNitro2000DC)

Recent buyers of used ZX rigs here all got that model and have heard no complaints the last 2 years or so...generally they do 68gps loaded with no tweaking or prop work. Lots of deck room and storage.
Generally a guy runs an engine no more than 3 days a month...maybe 2 engine hours or so a day so that means about 72-80 hours a year for 12 months.
Over 100 hours a year would be an active angler or retired or just has to make long runs to fish a big lake.
Opinions vary by region and so on...some way north are iced 5 months and some south fish all year like me in 4 clubs so would have the 100 hours.

Ask for service records or name of service shop...there are a lot of rigs under 5 years old with little use and are super deals. Turn power on, test what u can dry. Look at tires, at prop, at foot, they can say a lot. Also be sure air is way up within 3 psi of max. Run engine with muffs in his yard...stuff u can do without launching. Get a buddy to examine rig with you...

    Re: New Skeeter!!!!!!!! (reelman)

Great advice...I have the same boat, just a few years older (2001). You would not be disappointed in it. Mine will run 70 loaded with two guys. 72 alone consistantly.

I'm sure I put 100 hours a year with club tournys, weekly night tournys, and several benefit and open events we fish. Not to mention the lake trips for fun fishing with friends/family and the skiing/tubing we do as well.

As long as it's cared for properly, you'll be very happy...go for it. It will ride better than your Astro(IMO)...

    Re: New Skeeter!!!!!!!! (wildkat7)

Good advice... My 05 has about 305 hours on it and i do about 40 hours a year. Living up north my boat doesn't see water from about Early Dec ~ Late April.

Alone i'll get 72 in perfect conditions but it runs 70 consistently for me with a full load. It's a great boat and far more fishable and stable than others i've been in.

Not to mention they look good !! but i'm bias
