Brother in law looking at a Skeeter Bay Boat

    http://www.texasmarine.com/sea...ESC&#

Any of you have any experience with the skeeter bay boats? This one isn't brand new but looks to be in good shape. I might go with him to look at this boat and was wondering if there is anything to look out for on these bay boats?

Don't know anything about bay boats but that motor, from what I hear, is as good as they come.

Maybe a good idea to ask around on a site that caters more to inshore anglers too.

I don't know anything either but it looks to be way under powered. I know it's not going to break any speed records but a 150 HP on a 21' boat. That would be the first question why a 150 on it?

I see 20-22 ft boats like this all the time with a 150hp on it. It will be just fine. The hulls are completely different than a bass boat so a 150 will be just fine. You might not be screaming down the lake at 60mph+ but 45-50 in a boat like that is plenty fast

I have fished out of that model before. The boat had a 225 Honda on it and it ran very well. The ride was very dry and comfortable.

I own a ZX 20 Bay (19' 8") with a 150 4 stroke on it which runs anywhere from 51 to 54 GPS depending on conditions and load. My hull has an 1700 lb dry weight. That hull appears to have a different liner which may be lighter. I would say that boat would run 45 or so.

Drive by that place everyday going to work. Good boat, $hitty dealer. Have your guns loaded when you deal with that place.
