Which Skeeter boat to buy?

I am looking at 2 boats and i am not sure which way to go.

The first boat is a 2002 SX190 with a yamaha 115 four stroke, the motor has a 101hrs on it and it is really clean except for a few stains on the rug, it has older style lowrance fishfinders and a 80lb thrust minn kota maxxum. asking $11,500 for this setup.

The second boat is a 2004 SX180 w/ yamaha 115 four stroke, really clean boat. not sure on how many hours on the motor but hte guy said he hardly used the boat. newer lowrance ff . NEW Lowrance LCX-28C-HD Sonar, Fish-finding, Mapping GPS and a NEW Lowrance LMS- 527c DF iGPS w/Internal GPS antenna , same type of trolling motor.They both were garage kept and they both come witha custom skeeter cover. I am not sure on the price of this boat because it was on a auction site but it didn't sell for $8,800.00. I thinks it's worth around $10k.

I don't know if that SX190 is under power with that 115 four stroke But i don't fish any tourny, I just fish for fun and it usually is only me fishing sometimes a friend or my daughter may go but 90% of the time it's only me.

so what do you think?

I like the "newer" factor of the 2004 sx180, but me personally I'd probably get the SX190 cuz it's bigger.

The SX190 is pretty underpowered but I'd prolle still go with it for the lil bit of extra room over the 180. I'd bet that boat is only going to runlow 40's and be a lil slow out of the hole.

Thats the only thing thats holding me back on the SX190 is the speed and coming out of the hole But where I live there maybe 2 lakes to run over 50 mph and I think they may have a speed limit on them and the river has a speed limit of 45mph.

But if the boat is underpower will that ruin the engine quickier (higher rpm's) and eat up more gas?

I do like that SX190 has a little more room, not much more than the SX180, Difference in lenght is 9" and the diff. in the beam is 7"

OR

Should I just wait to find a SX190 with a 2 stroke on it. It is almost the end of the fishing season in Connecticut. Probably 2 more months then I usually start bow hunting season then.

I certainly wouldn't worry about it being harder on the engine. Those yammie 4 strokes are all but bulletproof. I'd strongly suggest carrying it out to the lake and going for a test run. If it comes out of the hole okay for ya, buy it. If not, wait until you find one with a 150.

There are a bunch of the SX190's out there with a 150 2 and 4 strokes. You will LOVE the 4 stroke for sure.

It's a little trip, but I have a 01 ZX190 with a 150 HPDI with only 12 hours on it. Within range of the 2 you are looking at.

This is what I would go for, the ZX series is worth the extra money. It also depends on what type of fishing you do...if you fish by yourself for fun, then maybe the newer SX180 is the best option, if you fish larger lakes with a partner, then the larger SX190 boat is better. If you want the best bang for your buck, then look for a ZX series. If it were me, I would take a long look at the used ZX Jason has for sale...

What the heck was that guys problem? Only 12 hours in 8 years? I have put 12 hours on mine in the last month.

Pretty boat , bet it wont last long if the price is right.

Yep... I would settle for that zx190 in a heart beat if I were you. You'll be glad you got the zx over sx.
