Found 87 skeeter sf175 with a xp150 on it looks very clean any thought`s on it? Oh they want 5000.00 for it anything to look for in particular? Seem`s a little high for a 87 but it look`s very sharp.

LOOK VERY CLOSE at the TRANSOM !!!!!!! The boat is slightly underpowered with the 150 on it. Max is 175.

I have a 91 175SF with a 175 hp Mariner. Two weeks after i bought found out transom and runners both were rotten! Cost a crap load to fix. Push down on top of the motor and see if it moves any then get it checked out anyway. Good Boat

+1 on the transom check. Had an 89' that I just got rid of due to transom rot, she was a sweet ride, but totally shot. I would go farther than trying to flex the motor. I would have core samples taken of the transom. $5k is a ton for that boat.
