    Shipping a motor cowl

Can someone tell me approximately how much it should cost to ship a cowl? And how it should be packaged. I'm trying to get a cowl shipped from Savannah, GA to Kansas City and the gentleman I'm buying it from was quoted $500 by UPS. He had it packed in a crate because they wouldn't take it in the box it originally was in. Any help or advice on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

it's not cheap, but $500 is a little much. What cowling you needing. I have a used one at the store. I can also give you a shipping cost if you'll send me your address.

that sounds way excessive. You can ship a transmission for $150 easy and it weighs a bunch more!
