I have a friend that has a Skeeter SX200 with a 200 Yamaha HPDI on the back. The year model of the boat I forget it around an 05 or 06. Anyway where would be a good starting point for his boat prop shaft height wise. He has 2 props a 25 T1 and a 27 Tempest to try. He has a 6" slidemaster manual plate. I figured starting 3.5" below and working up from there would be a good starting point but which prop would be the best fit for that boat to start with ?

Don't have an SX, I have a ZX200. May be similar. I was on another thread a couple of weeks ago and we were discussing the setup for a ZX200 (I have a 2007). On the top of the Slidemaster, the factory setup is at the 5th small dot. That's where mine is right now. I believe Jason Hale of Team Marine said he was driving a ZX200 and had it raised to 8 dots. That should be about 2 1/2 " below the pad. I'm probably going to play with my setup in a week or so.
Right now: I'm doing 65.2 mph (GPS), 5800 rpm, 20 psi water, with the factory setup. Full fuel tanks with all my gear.

Just from my experiences with setting up the '05 SX190 that I had with a 6" plate I'd probably set it at 3" below and make several runs while raising it about a 1/4" at a time. He's probably going to find that somewhre between 2 1/4"-2 3/4" is going to be about right depending on the prop. Just remind him to keep his eye on the water pressure, to be safe dont let it get below about 12psi.
