    Trim setting

    If your motor is parallel to the bottom of your boat (and with the water too, I guess), where do you want your trim setting to be? Seem like a little above zero would be good. Then I could trim to that and know that when I lower the hydraulic jack plate to 2.5" below, the motor wouldn't be trimmed totally out of the water (assuming the the exacto dial actually sets the motor depth accurately, but that is another post). Seems like my trim gauge doesn't move until the motor is way too high. Then is moves all at once. Makes it extremely tough to use the Hyd JP. Any suggestions?

    Sounds like your sending unit needs adjusted, think there is a thread pinned to the top of the Yamaha board that tells how to do it.
