2018 RT 198P Rod tube removal!

I've been wanting to remove the rod tubes as I'm tired of bent and broken rod eyes. I bought a conversion plate from one objective, a little pricey for what it is but the finished look is clean.

Had to do a little trimming in the opening and some foam removal. The tube are foamed in but ! was able to break them free fairly easily.

A buddy had some extra carpet, lighter color but doesn't matter as you can't really see it with the rods in.

Overall really happy how it came out and I can easily carry double the rods I had in there

    Very nice!

I only carry rods in the center locker on mine. I use rod sleeves and can put 2 in each tube. My thought is I'm trying to carry too many rods if I cannot fir them in the center locker. That's just me of course. The center also allows me to fit my 7'11" rods.

Now if they had a conversion to get rid of the tubes in the center locker, why then...
